Asian Gallery- Centuries of beauty, swords, decor, and lost art

Our Asian Gallery features Chinese and Japanese artifacts predominately from the 19th c. The Chinese section includes cinnabar lacquer, carved wooden screens, painted snuff bottles, carved jade and a granary jar that dates to the Han Dynasty.

Highlighting the Japanese area are Samurai swords and amour, netsukes and inros, and theater masks, which includes a 15th c. Tengu Mask. See elaborate collections of both art, woodwork, and weaponry up close by visiting this permanent exhibit today.

Meet our life size Samurai, like being a part of the children's film, "Night at the Museum"...perhaps he comes to life at night!

Our famous Tengu mask. The legendary creature found in Japanese folk religion can also be seen here.
