A Playground of Color 2018

We are delighted to present our annual exhibit A Playground of Color featuring elementary school art from Coshocton County. This favorite community show features over 300 works, impressive expressions of talent, freshness and energy. This annual exhibit runs from February 4th to March 25th and is also showing concurrently at the Coshocton and West Lafayette Libraries.

Artwork for this exhibit comes from students in kindergarten through sixth grade who attend elementary and middle schools in Coshocton’s city and county schools as well as from Coshocton Christian School, Scared Heart Catholic School and home school. Works are chosen by the students’ art teachers for their creativity and excellence.

This year’s artwork shines in acrylic collage, yarn art, and water colors. This exhibit often showcases animals, and this year’s artwork is no exception. All kinds of animals— cats, birds, fish, turkeys, peacocks, and more—are created in every way you can think of—watercolor, mosaic, mixed media, pastels, crayons, and sculpture. The artwork is absolutely delightful. It runs the gamut from playful interpretations of people, flora and fauna to serious studies in color and design. This is a show that everyone should see. It will make your day.

A Playground of Color is sponsored by Dixie Fishbaugh. The Ohio Arts Council also helped fund this event with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.
