Experience Art Therapy at JHM
May 9th @ 6:00 PM
In support of Mental Health Awareness month MSW Solutions and the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum are partnering to provide the "Art as Therapy" exhibit. To encourage the community to engage in creative ways of processing emotions, MSW Solutions will provide a program on May 9th at 6:00 PM explaining the variety of ways art can be incorporated into processing and regulating emotions!
The program will provide participants with a hands-on activity by engaging in a meditative painting exercise. With meditative painting, participants will be encouraged to relax and respond to their emotions by experimenting with paint and color. While traditional forms of meditation may be difficult to master, meditative painting requires no painting skill or previous experience. The only requirements are a desire to relax and become more creative. Participants will be guided in the process. All supplies will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring aprons or wear comfortable clothing that won't be ruined by any paint mishaps. This program is free, but space is limited. Please call or email to register for the program at 740-622-8710 or jhmuseum@jhmuseum.org. Anyone interested in learning about mental health service is encouraged to contact MSW Solutions, LLC at 740-502-3047 or any of the local community mental health services agencies.
